2024 Ford F-150 Lightning
The 2024 F-150 Lightning marks a large step forward in pickup truck design. This all-electric vehicle mixes the F-150's well-known power with zero-emission driving. It offers top-notch performance, new tech, and smart features, such as the front trunk storage space. The Lightning maintains the F-150's versatility while pushing what's possible in an electric truck.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The F-150 Lightning comes in different trim levels, each with a unique look. The PRO trim is the basic model. It has 18-inch machined aluminum wheels and all-season tires. It also has LED headlights and taillights, a black grille with special front lights, and a one-piece body design. The XLT, FLASH, and LARIAT trims all switch to 20-inch alloy dark-carbonized gray wheels. The XLT adds LED fog lights and longer running boards. The LARIAT trim has power-folding side mirrors with memory and auto-dimming on the driver's side and headlamps that bend around corners. It also has power-operated running boards and LED lights in the truck bed. The FLASH trim has an optional powered tailgate. The top-of-the-line Platinum trim stands out with 22-inch bright machined wheels with black-painted pockets. It also has a large moonroof, a Geometric Gray-ion grille, and a power tailgate.
Engine (Power)
The F-150 Lightning's engine setup has two electric motors with two battery choices, allowing it to handle tough jobs. The smaller battery produces 452 horsepower, while the larger battery provides 580 horsepower. Both variations have 775 pound-feet of torque. Towing capacity is up to 10,000 pounds with the XLT or LARIAT trims and the larger battery. The Lightning can carry up to 2,235 pounds of cargo with the smaller battery.
Performance
The F-150 Lightning performs well on the road. Trims with the larger battery can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, which is as fast as some sports cars. The trim and battery determine how far it can go on one charge. The XLT and LARIAT trims with larger batteries can go up to 320 miles. The PRO and regular XLT trims can go 240 miles, while the Platinum trim can go 300 miles. All F-150 Lightning models have four-wheel drive. The truck also has an independent rear suspension, which makes the ride smoother and easier to control.
Interior
The F-150 Lightning has room for five people, combining comfort with practicality. The dash has a 12-inch digital display, which increases to 15.5 inches in the LARIAT and Platinum trims. The SYNC 4A system for music and maps comes standard and wirelessly connects with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. One of the Lightning's best features is the front trunk, or "frunk," which gives 14.1 cubic feet of storage space where an engine would normally be. For people who work while out and about, there's an option to turn the inside into a mobile office, with space for a laptop and other cargo.
Safety Features
The F-150 Lightning comes with Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0, which includes automatic emergency braking to help keep you safe and Blue Cruise, which lets you drive hands-free on long trips. It also includes camera systems to assist with parking in tight spots and backing up with a trailer. All these features work together to make driving safer.
